You have a right to receive, and your Physician is under a duty to give you, full information on the surgery or treatment you will undergo. This right is embodied in the Informed Consent (you can ask for informed consent forms at any time, whether personally or via e-mail). The purpose of informed consents is to inform the patient of all surgical aspects. “Informed Consent” means a patient’s express consent in writing based on proper information received before undergoing a surgical procedure which poses a risk to their health, so that the patient is not only aware of the surgery to be performed and its consequences, but also of all possible complications or unexpected outcomes. A patient may freely withdraw their consent at any time.
